EDU 295 - Teaching as a Profession II Credits: 3 Provides a continuation of EDU 200 (VTfT I) to the teaching profession in Virginia, including a review of historical perspectives, and current issues and future trends in education on the national and state levels. Emphasizes information about careers in education. This includes teacher licensure examinations, steps to certification, teacher preparation and introduction programs, and attention to critical shortage areas in Virginia. Students will observe professional practice, prepare for the classroom and create a professional portfolio. Requires a supervised field placement of 30 clock hours in a K-12 school.
Prerequisite: EDU 200
Lecture 2 hours Laboratory 2 hours.
