The Career Studies Certificate program in Pharmacy Technician prepares students to order, stock, package, prepare, and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Students will prepare to take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examinations in order to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Entrance requirements for this program include high school graduation or a GED; age 18 or older before entering clinical experiences; minimum placement into ENG 111 /EDE 11 and MTH 111 as determined in consultation with an academic advisor; and a minimum college GPA of 2.0 if college courses have been taken.
This program is American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) Accredited.
