The Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in General Studies - Specialization: Theatre Arts is a flexible degree that prepares students for performance and technical positions such as actors, directors’ assistants, communications and public relations representatives, set designers, shop technicians, and sound and lighting technicians. Graduates of this program will also develop strong oral and visual communication skills.

2Students may select any of the following courses to meet this requirement: HIS 111  , HIS 112  , HIS 121  or HIS 122  .

3Students are required to choose full-year sequences.

Beginning Foreign Language sequences include: ASL 101  - ASL 102 ; FRE 101  - FRE 102 ; GER 101  - GER 102  ; RUS 101  - RUS 102 ; SPA 101  - SPA 102 .

Intermediate Foreign Language sequences include: ASL 201  - ASL 202  ; FRE 203  - FRE 204 ; GER 201  - GER 202; RUS 201  - RUS 202 ​; SPA 203  - SPA 204 .

Note: Students who already have foreign language proficiency or have successfully completed two years of a foreign language in high school may petition for advanced placement. Students placed into an intermediate course in foreign language, may substitute courses from the approved list of humanities and/or social sciences under General Education Core Requirements  for the language credits needed to complete the degree.

4Students may select from eligible Humanities courses identified as Literature and Creative Writing or Human Culture under General Education Core Requirements . Students should consult with an academic advisor or counselor to choose the appropriate course(s).

5Students may select any Social Science elective under General Education Core Requirements, except for a History Course. Eligible courses are listed under General Education Core Requirements . Students should consult with an academic advisor or counselor to choose the appropriate course(s).
